History of Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation
The Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation (KCMF) was established in April 2006 in memory of Kevin Cain, who lost his courageous battle with cancer in June 2005. Kevin is remembered as someone who made a difference in the lives of others by coaching youth sports and volunteering his time for worthy causes. Despite his illness, he continued to coach and mentor children in the community. Kevin’s legacy of helping others continues through the work of the Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation.
Kevin and his wife Rose encountered other cancer patients while Kevin was undergoing treatment. They met many families experiencing financial strain while fighting cancer. A cancer diagnosis often means missed days from work, frequent doctor visits, insurance co-pays, and expensive medications. Despite seemingly adequate health insurance coverage, the financial toll of having cancer can be devastating to a family.
The feedback received from medical professionals, patients, and their families strengthens our belief that we are doing important work. The Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation is committed to providing cancer patients, and their families, compassion, respect, and ultimately, hope.
